You are right. Thirsty is right word. Thirst shloud be so strong that you are ready to quench it from wherever and in whatever from it is available.
This thirst made India a unique country because people from here moved to places as far as Greece, China’s eastern end and Arab countries to learn from them other ways to discover the truth. And such was their influence that with them they were able to bring renowned people so that they can guide our people to discover the truth following their path. And people were so madly thirsty that they gathered in numbers!
But after the rise of Brahminical order in India even Buddha’s followers, of our own countries, were killed mercilessly. The fear was such that Bodhidharma, of Tamilnadu, we was not even enlightened but his female master advices him to leave India and spread the messages of Buddha to people of China, just to save the legacy of Buddha. Rest is history.
Now these very Brahmin people who have destroyed Buddha’s teachings and followers in India are again rising their head at global level. But when every brick of the very foundation of the palace is dipped in blood of innocent spiritual people of India, then it is foolish to imagine that the one of it’s own kind of palace in this world is going to last longer than 5 years.
